A day-long Islamic conference marking the 37th founding anniversary of Zaker Party was held on Wednesday at Bishrashri in Sadar upazila of Faridpur, centred on Bishwo Zaker Manzil, where organisers said a gathering of more than one hundred thousand party workers and supporters took part in the major religious and organisational event. The programme began with recitation of the Holy Quran and Durood Sharif, while the day’s proceedings had earlier started after the Fajr prayer with Fateha Sharif and a visit to the shrine of Zaker Party founder Hazrat Maulana Khwaja Baba Faridpuri (RA). The main conference then got under way at Bishwo Zaker Manzil, where the national and party flags were raised and pigeons and balloons were released as symbols of peace, formally inaugurating the anniversary celebrations.
At the main session, Zaker Party Chairman Mostafa Amir Faisal delivered a detailed and directive address to party workers, placing particular emphasis on what he described as a deep conspiracy against Bangladesh, the need for unity across political and social divides, and the wider implications of geopolitical developments. Faisal said the country was facing serious conspiratorial efforts and called on people to stand together to confront them. Turning to the Middle East, he said attempts were under way to fragment the region and warned that, according to his assessment, similar efforts were now being attempted in Bangladesh. He said such alleged conspiracies would be resisted collectively with the participation of the country’s people, urging party workers and supporters to remain united and vigilant.
The anniversary gathering drew participants to Bishrashri and the Bishwo Zaker Manzil area from the morning, creating a large-scale religious and organisational atmosphere around the central event. According to the programme announced by organisers, the proceedings began after Fajr with Fateha Sharif and a visit to the founder’s shrine before moving to the main conference. Party workers and supporters arriving from different areas joined the religious observances, prayers and Zikr as well as the organisational activities associated with the anniversary.
Throughout the day, prayers, Zikr and other spiritual and religious activities continued alongside the party’s organisational programme. The event brought together religious observance and political and organisational messaging, with the chairman’s address focusing on national unity, the country’s security and stability, and concerns over what he described as attempts to destabilise or fragment regions through geopolitical conspiracies. The gathering also provided an opportunity for supporters to mark the party’s 37-year organisational journey and reaffirm their participation in its religious, social and political activities.
