The Government of Pakistan, through its Ministry of Human Rights, will host the 9th Ministerial Conference on Women of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on 12–13 July 2026 at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad, bringing together ministers, senior government officials, policymakers, diplomats, and representatives from OIC member states to strengthen cooperation on women’s development and inclusive growth across the Muslim world. The high-level gathering is expected to serve as a key platform for discussions on advancing women’s rights, expanding access to quality education, improving healthcare, increasing economic participation, promoting entrepreneurship, strengthening social protection, enhancing leadership opportunities, and addressing emerging challenges affecting women and families in OIC member countries. According to the organizers, the conference will also focus on exchanging best practices, encouraging policy coordination, and fostering collaborative initiatives aimed at achieving sustainable development while respecting the social and cultural values of member states. Delegates are expected to review progress made since previous ministerial meetings, identify common priorities, and explore new frameworks for regional and international cooperation on gender-related development issues.
